Qualifications

At BEFS Ltd, we employ building and fire professionals as our Fire Engineers. Our Fire Engineers have a variety of qualifications and accreditations. These include registration with the Engineering Council via the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and CABE. BEFS Ltd’s Fire Engineers are Fellows and Members of the IFE, Members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), Chartered Building Engineers, and Members of CABE. They have also passed the RICS External Wall Surveyor course.

Accountability

BEFS Ltd holds appropriate Professional Indemnity Insurance to carry out all of the services we offer. We are also registered on the FIA portal to deposit EWS1 forms when required.

Our Team

Richard Veti MA LLB MIFireE MInstRE

Director

Richard has over 30 years of experience in fire safety work associated with the built environment, including 26 years in the Fire & Rescue Services.

Richard is a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers and is an IFE Registered Fire Risk Assessor (Life Safety). He has passed the RICS EWS Training Programme.

Other qualifications held by Richard include a Master’s degree in Business, a Bachelor’s degree in Law, and NEBOSH certification.

Terry Kinch TIFireE MIFSM IOSH Dip-FDIS

Director

Terry has worked within the fire safety sector since 1988. As an electrician he specialised in fire detection and alarm systems in a large fire safety company.

Since 2003 Terry has been developing Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Engineering. In 2007 Terry qualified as a Fire Risk Assessor completing the CHSS accredited courses and Manging Safety IOSH course to achieve TIFireE status. Terry is also Third Party Accredited as a Fire Risk Assessor through the BAFE SP205 scheme.

Steve McGrill IEng C.Build E MIFireE, MIFSM

Director

Steve is a Chartered Building Engineer with the Chartered Association of Building Engineers and an Engineering Technician with the UK Engineering Council, registered through the IFE.

He has a background in Royal Naval and aircraft firefighting, followed by 14 years of fire safety consultancy and fire risk assessment experience across a wide range of building types.

He is also a Tier 3 Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessor and an IFE Registered fire risk assessor (Life Safety). He has passed the RICS EWS Training Programme.
